Finding a piece of Christmas Heaven in Salzburg, Austria
We landed in Salzburg early afternoon and was greeted by our driver from Hotel Schloss Fuschl, who then drove us 30 minutes out of the city of Salzburg to a quiet and serene location where our hotel is located. The hotel which was built in 1450, originally a place of retreat for the archbishops to hunt and relax at, is now converted into a hotel which sits perfectly above and next to Lake Fuschl. It's absolutely breathtaking by the lake, as it's so clean and clear. It has this incredible green and blue hue to it that makes you want to stare at it all day long. And the best part is you get to wake up to views of the lake, eat breakfast with views of the lake, and even walk down to it to admire it up close.
For us, the perfect spot to celebrate Christmas would be a place that had snow and was festive but quiet and relaxing at the same time. Hotel Schloss Fuschl's location meant being away from the crowds so that you can retreat to your own oasis after your forays in the city. Upon arriving, I walked the grounds briefly before it got dark and I'll just let the photos do the talking. There's really nothing else that can beat absolute stillness in nature.
The hotel has a cozy bar for you to relax in for a quick bite, cocktails or games.
The resort also has the cutest little terrace area where they have cabanas and heavy warm fur blankets for you to sit in while soaking up the views of the lake
And when you are done with spending time in the cabana you can retreat to their spa which also has views of the lake and the snow capped hills
As you can see, Hotel Schloss Fuschl is the perfect spot for us to experience our Christmas heaven in Salzburg. I feel relaxed just going over all the photos.
